In their
free time Rutland's students like to be active and enjoy sightseeing,
shopping, practising various sports, walking, sunbathing, swimming
(in the sea or heated pool) or doing things with their host families.
There are many places of historical and cultural interest within
easy reach of the School. A few of the students favourites are Canterbury
Cathedral, Canterbury Tales Museum, Howlett's Zoo Park, Charles
Dickens' houses in Broadstairs, Dover Castle and Museum, Margate's
old Theatre Royal and Winter Gardens Concert Hall, etc.
Other ancient places to visit include Ramsgate, Minster, Sandwich,
Whitstable and Rochester. If you enjoy natural views and wildlife
there are plenty of coastal and country walks you can go on.
The weather
is mainly good in this part of England and is seldom really cold,
so it will not stop you from getting out and about
